This winter has been so odd with the very cold days followed by the very hot days! I prefer warmer weather, but what can you expect in February?
If you are a snow lover, this surely has been a disappointing winter for you. Snow is nice if you can just sit and take it in. Shoveling the driveway always manages to damper the excitement of a snow storm.
Unless you’re in school…
Remember the excitement of waking to find snow on the ground? Or maybe you slept in your inside-out jammies trying to bring on the snow. Gathering around the radio or the TV to hear if your school is named on the “closed” list was the highlight of the morning. Mom was trying to keep us on track but we were determined to wait for the closure news. And when our school was announced, a mighty shout went up. We quickly pulled on our winter clothes and ran outside to play. We would play in the snow all day long!
Those were exciting days! Gone was the thought of homework or gym class or pop quizzes. It was all about the snow, sledding, and making the best snowball!
Funny how the image of a snow shovel changes it all for adults.
